Problems with the Teltonika RUT950 Router in the Roaming Network
Please check the antenna connections and any cables in use.
For the cellular antenna ports, the router has an external thread and a hole as an inner conductor. The screw nut with a pin as an inner conductor must be on the antennas or the antenna cable.
Have you recently performed a firmware update?
If so, check in the firmware menu that Bootloader v.2.0 is installed. If you retained settings during the update, I would recommend a reset and reconfiguration after the update.
The included antennas and the multiband 4G antenna can easily receive and connect to Edge.
The LED blinks red/yellow/green when the device is trying to connect to a mobile network. If it remains solid or blinks irregularly, and 1-5 of the signal strength indicators light up, a connection is established. Red = Edge, Yellow = UMTS, Green = 4G.
Please use Connection type NDIS.
For A1, I found the following APN: a1.net
I cannot say whether uppercase letters cause any issues.
With the current firmware versions, you generally only need to enter the correct PIN. The router retrieves the rest from its internal database, so the Teltonika router usually establishes a 4G connection right out of the box if you insert a SIM card without a PIN lock into SIM1.
Depending on the A1 plan, other credentials may be required:
To access the internet on your phone or tablet with A1, you must enter the correct APN (Access Point Name) in the device settings:
- APN: a1.net
- Username: ppp@A1plus.at
- Password: ppp
Note: If you have an A1 Start, A1 Mobil Start, or aonMobil plan, use the following APN settings:
- APN: aon.at
- Username: mobile@aon.at
- Password: ppp
For "Mobile Data on Demand," please uncheck the option. This ensures the connection remains active at all times. I would only recommend enabling this feature if you are using a time-based data plan. The additional data consumption caused by keeping the connection active is minimal and can be ignored.
NDIS
The current APN for 4G connections is:
internet.telekom
Authentication: CHAP
Password: tm
Username: tm
Please also disable "Mobile Data on Demand".
Here are my working settings using a German E-Plus SIM card. The configuration looks as follows:
